Why Higher education is important

Importance of Higher Education & Defining

What is it? Higher Education.
Defining higher education. Specifically, higher education is education provided
by universities, colleges, and other institutions that award academic degrees.
Higher education includes both the undergraduate and the levels.

Higher education includes most professional education and is strongly vocationally or professionally oriented. Higher education differs from other forms of post-secondary (after high school) education such as vocational education. Vocational education is a form of secondary or post secondary education but is considered non-academic as compared to higher education. The figure below is an attempt to visually show these levels of education and just where higher education fits in.
We generally think of college education in personal terms. Students invest considerable time and energy, in addition to dollars, into building their futures through education.
The prospect of wider opportunities and a higher standard of living leads families to save in advance, sacrifice current consumption opportunities, and go into debt in order to enable their children to continue their education after high school.
The broader societal benefits of investment in higher education receive less attention, but are fundamental to the well-being of our nation. State governments appropriate billions of dollars per year for public colleges and universities and the federal government provides grants, loans, and work assistance,as well as tax credits and deductions, to help students finance post secondary education. Nonetheless, awareness of the ways in which we all benefit when educational opportunities increase is limited. It is impossible to evaluate the appropriate level of either private or public investment in higher education without a more concrete sense of the individual and societal benefits, in addition to the costs is the personal and public investment in higher education.

Why study engineering?

Engineering and technology

Renowned group of professionals and always in demand.
what's not to like about a career in engineering?
Good money, lots of variety, may not be the easiest areas of study. but they're subjects that continue to be in demand, and because they are challenging, those studying them stand out from the crowd. You're also more likely to find employment quickly and work your way up the career ladder with an engineering or technology degree under your belt
30,000 skilled professionals are needed each year between now and 2016 to bridge the gap of those who are retiring.
“Nuclear power will be a future growth area requiring engineering and technology graduates.
Those that are drawn to an engineering or technology course will also find enjoyment and satisfaction throughout their career.
"Students drawn to a technology course probably do so because they find the subject interesting, and they will find employment in engineering and technology will continue to be interesting for the rest of their careers,"
"It's an area that is guaranteed to continue to change and evolve so that, in a way, even experienced professionals are continually learning and refreshing their knowledge. For many of us in the field it's this constant change that is so appealing."
An engineering-based education also allows students exposure to various technical subjects and skill sets.
They will be able to develop skills that are transferable to most industries such as problem solving, decision making, innovation, project management, team working and communication,They will also have the knowledge that they are contributing to a rapidly changing technological environment.

According to many sources I've studied, higher education offers graduates more jobs to choose from than are open to those who don't pursue education beyond high school, and graduates typically earn more than non graduates. Specifically, as per the private survey conducted by our team in various major cities in India survey.

Early Start "Career Planning"

Early Start "Career Planning"

Early Start "Career Planning in High School and College"Before stepping onto this college admissions roller coaster,

Smart parents Early Start by giving their student the advantage of an objective career assessment conducted by career experts.

Students tell us that our career assessments and coaching:

  1. Increased their confidence
  2. Increased their sense of direction
  3. Gave them more motivation to succeed

Parents and students alike are pleased with the:

  1. Increased peace-of-mind
  2. Financial savings realized by avoiding extra semesters or years of school
  3. Ability to make informed choices

Early Start advantage assessment is a critical first step that provides information for post high school decisions. Career planning programs or interest inventories alone do not provide the depth of information and personalized feedback that an Advantage assessment
from delivers. When a student's strengths and interests are identified, the family
gains invaluable criteria for evaluating the types of colleges, learning environments, Courses, and career paths where their child will flourish. In addition to learning how to leverage their.

Parents should understand before they go all out for their children's career planning that childers in same family are different from each other why?

Environmental influences on personality, psychopathology, and cognition.

1. Environmental characteristics
2. Psychological characteristics

Environmental characteristics

Most important findings that has emerged from human behavioral genetics involves the environment rather than heredity, providing the best available evidence for the importance of environmental influences on personality, psychopathology, and cognition.
for an example if there are two children's in the family out of which one is adopted one
and both are their in the family from their early life stage  there is correlation in these children's because of their environment but not heredity.

Psychological characteristics

Most psychological characteristics, correlations for adoptive “siblings” hover near zero, which implies that the relevant environmental influences are not shared by children in the same family.

It has been thought that cognitive abilities represent an exception to this rule, recent data suggest that environmental variance that affects IQ is also of the non shared variety after adolescence.

Prepare for Your Career

1.Explore your options
2. Need to know more about courses you want to do.

5. Talk to the people in same course / job.
6. Prepare yourself properly & go for your passion.
